Discovered in 1958, the hormone melatonin (Formula: C13H16N2O2; CAS: 73-31-4) regulates sleep–wake cycles. It is often used for trouble sleeping as a result of jet lag or shift work, however benefits are unclear. Side effects are minimal and include include sleepiness, headaches, nausea, diarrhea, and affected dreams. Melatonin is involved in circadian rhythms including sleep–wake timing, blood pressure regulation, and seasonal reproduction. Melatonin is also present in various foods. This molecule is provided in three standard representations and includes a simulated electrostatic (van der Waals) surface. The whole model is provided as a C4D scene, all objects are editable primitives or metaball objects. The .stl and .obj files are exported from C4D R20 and are provided as is.
