This is a simple thing that reminds me of a Salvador Dali painting where he melted clocks over surfaces (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Persistence_of_Memory). I designed the gear in Fusion 360 and then brought it into ZBrush 2018 where I used the mask and deform tools to curve the gear. It's easily printed without supports.
