To secure an Arduino Mega2560 and Ramps 1.4 board on an Alloy Mendel, use my custom-designed cradle that fits with 8mm slots of a 30x30mm alloy extrusion. This mounting solution requires the "big foot" for adequate clearance height. It has two 8mm strips to align precisely with your Alloy extrusion's slots and features four 5mm mount holes that need m3 tapping on the base. A perspex lid can be fitted with pre-drilled mounting holes/slots, providing ventilation above the stepper motor boards via a 40x40mm 12v fan.
