MendelMax 1.5 Modified Z End Stop Screw Mount

If you happen to have a MendelMax 1.5, and it happens to use the old fashioned rod clamps for the X, Y, and Z end stops, these objects here: XYZ End Stops for MendelMax 1.5+ are incredibly useful. However, if you're like me, and have a MendelMax 1.5 with the old fashioned end stops, and want to use a great Z end stop mount without having to print an entirely new series of carriages, then this object is for you! While you can easily use the old Z end stop switch rod clamp to hold the screw, I found mine to be a little suboptimal and not really up to the task for the long term. This rod clamp securely clamps to both X rods, and keeps the Z end stop screw snugly in place and at the right height. You will want to print two of them in order to use them. This is designed to sit on the 50mm center-to-center X/Z carriages of a MendelMax 1.5 series printer with 8mm X rods. YMMV, caveat emptor, etc. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: MendelMax 1.5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 20% Notes: Can be printed in ABS or PLA. The nut traps may be too shallow for your Z screw nuts. Barring an updated model here, a little drop of cyanoacrylic glue will help ensure that they stay seated properly, once sunk into the trap.
