MendelMax Stronger Lower Vertex Frame Plastic with small Feet

Built from scratch in OpenSCAD. Easy to modify. Compatible with the old STL's. Put some solid walls around the Frame Plastic to add strength. There is 2 versions you can choose from. The one with the extra cross also has thicker walls and thicker plate. 5 mm versus 4 mm backplate. Prints very well here. Advantage of a plate like this, it's easier to print this plastic accurate than most of the mendelmax frame plastic which has difficult to print walls standing. I printed just one of the first design. Printed 3 so far from Instructions Print 2 and mirror it and print 2 of those as well. Just pick which of the 2 STL's you'd like to go to. This is fully compatible with the original plastic of MendelMax with the upper extrusions at 60 degree angle and a distance of 50 mm between the 2 lowest layers of extrusions measured between the heart of the holes. There is a huge difference here in weight resulting from a print. I tried different settings there. both cura as well as slic3r. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Only a very good camera taking a good close-up photo would show the difference. I've got a print here from CURA of the 2a version that's 24 grams and the same thing printed (also with 40% infill) by slic3r 0.9.9 is 37 grams over here (orange PLA), yet using honeycomb and more solid printed walls it seems. Some more experimentation in printing will be tried over here. Printed it half a dozen times now! The 24 grams one seems more than strong enough. That's the CURA one. Infill at 40%. Linear recta filling of course and nozzle here is 0.35 so i put the wall thickness at 0.35 mm as well and layer height at 0.15 mm. Will continue toying with slic3r coming days/weeks trying to get better part!
