This sculpture is a work by Michel Anguier. The "Bâtiments du Roi," or King's Building, purchased it in 1698. It was relocated to the Park of Marly from 1701 to 1707 and then moved again to the Park of Trianon between 1722 and 1845. Later, the sculpture found a new home in the Park of Saint-Cloud until 1872. Finally, it was transferred to the National Museum at Fontainebleau Castle between 1928 and 1994.
