Mercury One Mod Tension Tower Shims

Mercury One Mod Tension Tower Shims

A set of shims to fill the space left between the frame and front o fthe tower when tenbsioning the belts. I didn't like the fact that all the tension is put on the little area of the tower that is retaining the adjustment bolt, so I created a set of shims (2.5mm, 3.0mm, 3.5mm) that you can use to fill the gap and carry the tension. To install, find the right tension needed for the belts. Then select the shim that best fills the gap. To get the shim in, tighten the bits a little bit more, slide the shim in, then screw the tension bolt back in so the tower is held firmly against the shim and frame. Don't forget to loosen the top screw before adjusting the tension and tightening it afterwards. You can be easily modify these by making them thicker or thinner to get the right fit. These just happen to be exactly what I need for my setup.
