Metal Rod Spool Shelf Bracket

Metal Rod Spool Shelf Bracket

prusaprinters

A simple bracket for creating a spool shelf. Designed to be used with some 8mm metal rods I had left over from a decommissioned delta printer but I would imagine 8mm wooden dowel rods would work almost as well.

You can print it as is but my intent was for it to be with no top and bottom layers and with modifiers to set the infill to 100% to reinforce the wall mounting holes and the rod seats. I have included a 3MF file made in PrusaSlicer and a picture that demonstrates the setup.

I've had 3 of these printed in PLA with 3 perimeters and 10% triangular infill hold up to 10 fill 1kg spools of on my garage wall for a while. It even works as a fair spool holder if positioned above your printers as the spools turn easily on the metal rods (plastic spin better than cardboard).

Recommended that they be printed in PLA or ABS (might need to account for shrinkage). PETG might start to sag with a heavy load.
