Mount spools on the racking of your shelving units if you have the slot together type. I don't know how universal it is, but the slot is 3mm wide, and 10mm deep.

I purposely didn't make this supersized because physics and my shelving may not be the best of friends. It will support a standard 20cm spool that is under 70mm thick and has at least a 40mm hole.

Print instructions

You need to make 2 decisions:

1) which way the spool will unwind. Looking at the cap with the spool loaded, if the spool will unwind clockwise, use the RH thread. If it unwinds anti-clockwise the LH thread. This will stop the cap undoing and the spool falling to a big messy death on the floor, possibly taking your printer with it... or you could just use some glue.

2) Which way do you want the spool holder to point to the left or the right. The one I printed in the image is the point right version.

Nothing fancy needed to print this, 0.2mm layer height and PLA will do you, but you do want to solid up the bolts, I used 2 perimeters and 90% infill. For the rest of the parts, the more infill and perimeters the stronger it will be. I printed with 2 perimeters and 50% infill for everything.
