Metal Simple Printrbot Filament Holder (Sturdy)

DESCRIPTION This sturdy filament holder prints best upright without supports and with 0.2mm layer height with 30% infill. Simple bent paperclips and a couple of 50-cent clamps make for a sturdy, reliable filament management system for the Printrbot Metal Simple. CREATION Print the STL file provided at the default scaling (if using your Printrbot Simple Metal, compare to screenshot of prepped build plate to detect scaling issues. STL files carry absolute lengths so there should be no issues, but if necessary use spacing of holes at bottom of holder to rescale the print) Bend paperclips into shape shown in gallery with wire cutters and needle-nosed pliers Heat up ends of clips on stove and push into the tops of the two vertical arms as pictured. Cut 13cm of 1-1/2" PVC pipe (I used black ABS) or another low-thickness pipe with an outer diameter between 4cm and 5cm (the OD must be between 4cm and 5cm to ensure both clearance through the filament reel AND elevation of the reel off the bottom of the holder) You're done! Place holder on vertical rods (use grease if necessary). Secure filament by inserting PVC pipe through filament and placing on vertical arms, then clamping using small clamps like this (http://tinyurl.com/ofqr7g3) found at your local hardware store.
