The roof resembles a scorpion fish. HistoryMusicalsWeblinks History[Edit | Edit Source] The musical theatre was built from November 1998 to September 1999 for 30 million Euros in the form of an arena and was equipped with 1,807 seats. The eye-catching roof is modelled on a dragon's head. The venue was designed for the musical Tabaluga & Lilli by Peter Maffay, which was to be performed in the long term. The first performance was on September 24, 1999, and despite a revision at the beginning of 2001, the curtain fell on June 30, 2001. Front View Stage Metronom Theater, June 2014 From April 4 to June 30, 2002 and September 16 to December 31, 2002, the musical FMA Falco meets Amadeus was performed, as was the first production Tabaluga, but with only moderate attendance. On August 1, 2005, the theatre was taken over by Stage Entertainment Germany, which involved a costly conversion of the foyer, the theatre hall (new and additional seats were installed so that the number of seats rose to 1830), the backstage area, and an installation of a Stage Club and a newly designed box office within 14 weeks for around 20 million euros. After a public search for a new name for the former TheatrO, it was renamed Metronom Theater. After a two-year planning phase, extensive renovation work began on the roof construction in June 2015. The old green membrane was replaced by a silver one. From 11 March 2007 to 4 October 2008, the theatre was the venue for a part of the Blue Man Group, which also performed in Berlin and Stuttgart's Apollo Theater at the time.
