Metropolis Robot (Maria) with Rings

Metropolis Robot (Maria) with Rings

This is another classic robot, named Maria, from the 1927 science fiction movie "Metropolis". I've recently updated the legs and torso to smooth a couple of areas. Included also is a stand to mount her along with the consciousness transfer rings. I took some poetic license with the details but it does capture the essence of the original design as seen in the movie poster photo. The model was printed in PLA on a MakerBot Replicator 2. This replaces the previous Maria. Instructions The robot is printed in three sections. Use high resolution and rafts. Make sure the torso piece is upside down on the build plate. Supports are only needed for the head piece. You can print the rest of the props, stand, rings, and rings stand at low resolution. Once printed, clean the robot up a bit (especially where the supports are), then assemble with glue, prime and paint!
