A while back I made a model of the base weapon used to create the RT-97c blaster as seen in Star Wars: A New Hope (and many other places since!) I was pretty new to OnShape / 3D modeling / printing, and did a lot of things differently than I would if I was starting the project today. Since I needed to print one for myself, I decided to go back and make some improvements. The big things that have changed: - Parts are cut differently to make them easier to print with less support - The barrel is hollow now, rather than solid with recesses - It now requires a 1/2" dowel for the center of the barrel - Overall improvements to the fit of the parts -- less sanding! - The magazine is now angled instead of sitting flat Still to do: - Strap mounts for the top of the magazine - Instructions!!! Random notes: - I printed the rear bakelite section in wood PLA, to try to emulate the look of the original material. - Not sure how sturdy this will be... I don't recommend dropping it!!
