This part was designed to make use of a Pentax-M f1.7 50mm lens with my Panasonic G7. I have spent hours refining the dimensions, it is finely tuned. Your printer may vary :( Included are Inventor 2017 part files, STLs, 100% infill region files, IDW drawings, and PDF Drawings. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Notes: 1.75mm PLA on PrintrBot Simple Metal 2015 with E3Dv6 Hotend, Mic6 Heated Bed, Kapton Tape. Use 40% infill, in Slicer apply Region Modifier .STLs as 100% infill regions. USE HIGH-OPACITY BLACK FILAMENT, light colors will not block ambient light, this will distort image. Post-Printing Step 1: Cleanup Cleanup both parts, remove sharp edges, and cut out drooping bridge filaments. Then test fit both parts into their respective mounts, they should be smooth but snug. Then fit the parts together, sanding/cutting as necessary. Step 2: Align Lens You must fine tune the correct "flange focal distance". Mount to tripod and set up looking at a scene with sharp features at infinity focus (e.g. the moon, skyscrapers, mountains). Set lens to infinity focus and then slide the forward mount until the far-away objects are in perfect focus. Apply a few drops of super glue to the outer seam to hold it there. Make sure the lens is square to the body flange and triple check your focus. Step 3: Glue Reinforce with more glue, apply a generous amount of 2-part epoxy to inside and outside seams. As it sets I would check that focus has not shifted. As it dries, use a finger wet with alcohol to smooth around the seams. Let cure for 24 hours. Step 4: Finish Sand inside and outside surfaces (don't deform the mounts!). Paint inside with matte black spray paint (to prevent reflective distortions). Try to get as matte and as dark as possible. Paint outside if desired.
