This archive contains STL and STEP files to make the miniature mini-nuke that you can print yourself. The nuke is 1.6'' (40mm) tall and is intended to serve as a tabletop miniature figurine, a large bead, a keyring decoration, or a pedant. The model is designed to assemble without tools or glue and print with no supports, no brim, no raft. The press-fit tolerances were tested on Prusa i3 MK2 printer with Hatchbox (PLA) and Solutech (ABS) filaments. While the model sliced with Prusa Slic3r and printed on Prusa i3 MK2 assembled easily and reproducibly, the tolerances were inconsistent when the same STL files were sliced with Cura and printed on a Creality Ender 3. For this reason, the STEP files are provided for tweaking the tolerance for your particular printer. The PLA version (on the photograph) is designed to assemble without tools or glue, and remain assembled due to the layer lines interlocking with each other. The ABS version is designed to assemble with little force before being finished with acetone vapor smoothing. The vapor smoothing makes the model glossy, hides the 3d-printing layers, and fuses together the separate parts of the model. While the correct smoothing and fusion of the model were verified using black ABS, the colored ABS model was never produced. Please let me know if there are missing files or if the attached documentation is unclear.
