Microcosm: Green Alga Display Model

<p>This is a display model of <i>Staurastrum longipes</i> (Nordst.) Teiling, a common freshwater green alga. As part of the order Desmidiales, this single-celled phytoplankton consists of two distinct hemispheres (semicells), connected by a constriction (Sinus). The species contains two chloroplasts. In this models, both plastids were fused for design reasons.</p><p>The model is best printed as seen in the pictures. The model can be mounted on a 13mm (⌀ 4.6 mm).
