Microscope Mobile Phone Adapter

thingiverse

This is a 3D printed adapter used to take photos through a microscope. Several similar models are available on the internet but I found them to be designed either for a specific mobile phone or, when adaptable, to be very clunky, large or complicated. This design makes provision for most phones, the width can be anything from about 55mm 90mm and the length is not really a limited since it is open at the top and bottom. I would estimate that the maximum thickness is about 12mm. The print is designed to handle off center cameras as well (in case you camera is centered to the other side you might have to flip the print which can be easily done on most printers.) This design only have 3 printed parts, 5 screws and 5 nuts (nuts are optional in most cases since the screws holes are designed to be tight enough to get away without the nuts) Only one clamp stl is supplied, flip the "CLAMP" stl to print the second clamp. An M3 screw is needed for the clamp around the microscope lens. Four M4 screws are needed for the 2 clamps to clamp the mobile. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.12mm Infill: 15% Notes: Two clamps are needed, the one should be mirrored. The design places the camera off center. Depending on the position of the camera lens on the mobile you might have to mirror the eye mount print as well. Only drill out the holes if you want to use nuts, otherwise screw directly into the plastic. If you think that that is not secure enough, add nuts where necessary.
