Microswitch SD to MX adapter

After stumbling across a small collection of microswitch SD square stem keys at the junkyard (thank you u/mr_ywg for identifying the keys on Reddit), I decided to create a key adapter to allow the use of these on a MX keyboard. I tested this adapter on Gateron and Otemu switches and they fit snug, and allow complete actuation, exactly as they should. The trick is to grind down ~3 or 4mm of the original key cap supports so they cap doesn't bottom out on the top ledge of the mechanical switch. This will allow the adapter to sit deeper into the keycap and the key to sit lower on the keyboard. I used a Dremel to accomplish this. My recommendation is to install on the adapter on your switch first and gently press your keycap down evenly until it bottoms out the switch. These should fit snug, but not be impossible to remove from either the switch or keycap. About Microswitch SD switches and keys: https://deskthority.net/wiki/Micro_Switch_SD_Series
