Midwest gas cap-stopper

Midwest gas cap-stopper

I inherited a gas can (dug it out of the garbage can from the house we bought- I can't stand to see things go to waste when they're still useable) but it didn't have the spout or a cap. It had the "nut" part, but nothing to keep gas from coming out the hole where the nozzle is supposed to go. So I took measurements (did you know the "nut" tapers to center the stopper?) and printed it in nylon to withstand gasoline. A new spout kit is about $12 on Amazon, but I have another can identical, so I can use the spout for both cans- and i can tell my wife that the 3D printer saved us $12 (I'm adding it up as I go, just to justify all the spending I do on 3D printing- nudge, nudge... it's actually saving us money sweetheart...) It's been a while since I printed nylon. Print with a brim to keep the first layer stuck down. My nylon had a bit on the nozzle that burned and deposited some brown/ burnt nylon in my print- you may see it in the photos, but it was my third print and finally stuck to the bed, so I called it good. This is the first thing I've uploaded. Been designing a lot for around the house, so I'll upload more as I identify useful things others may want.
