Miele vacuum handle repair

Thanks to all of you for sharing your work. Simple repair piece for the broken handle on Miele vacuum cleaner. On the original Miele handle, due to the square hole in the handle that the latch hooks onto, the end of the thin plastic tube broke on our vacuum. This piece just slips over what is left of the handle and fits into the attachments. Is a deliberately tight fit since know will wear over time, but as a consequence, the narrow end doesn't quite go as far as it needs to latch. Also find that with the smaller cleaning attachments, the latching hole is exposed, so either need to put finger over the hole, or add a clip. I just printed another small tube section that I cut along the axis of rotation, so it could expand and used that. If I get around to updating this, would change it in these ways (you may want to do your own variant): 1. move square hole closer to end of tube: square latch hole is same distance from end of tube as original; would move it a little closer to the end (say 8mm from end instead of 12mm) so don't need to push adaptor on so far for it to latch. 2. add a little notch in the larger end of tube for it to locate against the little round locating pin on what is left of the original handle. Don't really need this with such a tight fit, but expect over time will become looser, and will want the locator then.
