Prehistoric carved boulder near Millstone Burn on Longframlington Common, Northumberland. This boulder is referenced ‘Millstone Burn 2bb’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA) and was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. The BA describes ‘A single cup and a cup and ring.’ NADRAP weren’t as convinced by the markings, noting: ‘…There is an oval indentation with a groove below which are three faint cups - barely dimples. The surface has several small pock-marks which are probably natural. The faint cups, oval and groove may not be artifical, and the two cup-shaped indentations at the apex could also be natural features.’ ERA & BA record: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=541 Model created from 5 stereo pairs captured by Dave Tuck & David Jones (NADRAP) in October 2006. The imagery forms part of the full NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England & Northumberland County Council.
