Outcrop with a prehistoric carvings near Millstone Burn on Longframlington Common, Northumberland. Referenced ‘Millstone Burn 2g’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA) this stone was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008 and described as: ‘This rock juts out from the hillside, with bedding planes clearly visible on the side, and forms a ‘shelf’. There at least 30 cups: about sixteen small cups arranged in a cluster on NW top face of rock; four faint cups grouped next to this cluster, lower down; and a third cluster of six or seven very small cups lower down to the east. The cluster of small cups is unusual and bears some resemblance to those on carved rocks near Kirkcudbright in south west Scotland.’ ERA & BA info: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=544 Model created from 5 stereo pairs captured by Joe Gibson & Keith Elliott (NADRAP Team 3) in October 2006. The imagery forms part of the full NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England & Northumberland County Council.
