This is an experimental project that has the potential to damage your machine if not done correctly, please proceed with caution when printing this design The main body of this lamp is printed over 5 stages in 3 colours without being removed from the bed. The only parts removed during those 5 stages are the outer square and any brim generated by your slicing program. This part was designed to be used with Slic3r, however any slicing program that can center an object based on it's outer dimensions can most likely be used. It makes use of the retraction Z lift function to avoid colliding with other sections of the print. This is not an ideal situation but it does make the print possible without gaps. The STL models themselves are OK however Slic3r doesn't like joining the cubes, so small gaps are present. Slic3r frequently fails to render the most basic meshes even remotely correctly, this is a minor example of that case. You can use anything to light up inside of it, I use a small section of 12v natural strip light on an AC adapter. Stages 1 and 5 are printed with black filament. Stages 2 and 3 are printed with red. Stage 4 can be natural or white.
