Minerva (Design a Planet Project)

This is a model of my own planet, Minerva. It is half the size of Earth, which is a great enough mass for an atmosphere, and 80 AU away from it’s star. Its star is a blue star which has an average temperature of 15,000 degrees Celsius, and lasts 10 million years, or possibly even less, ergo Minerva will not have much time to evolve. Minerva is quite far away from its star, but the volcanoes release enough carbon dioxide in the air to keep it warm by taking carbon from the inside of the planet and releasing it into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide. Minerva also has no plate movement, which helps keep it warm because if there is no plate movement on a planet then rocks containing carbon can more quickly and easily be transferred back into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide. Minerva also has liquid water. The rain creates these rocks made out of carbon by combining with chemicals from older rocks on land that have been broken down and washed into the ocean. This helps balance out the carbon dioxide in the air. The liquid water of course, is also necessary for human life, as humans cannot survive without water. The producers also help balance out the carbon dioxide as they take in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen into the air. This way, there is not too much carbon dioxide in the air. The producers also create enough oxygen to form an ozone layer that protects the humans from ultraviolet radiation, and of course enough for us to breathe. They also provide humans with food. All of these characteristics combined create a planet capable of supporting human life. My model is great in the aspects that it can show you the water and land masses, as well as the volcanoes and some producers, but it cannot show you in depth. I did not create a model of the star, with proper scale because the star would be much too large and far away with Minerva this large. The scale of the volcanoes may also be a little off. This model can also not show you the atmosphere, whether Minerva has plate movement or not, or how the characteristics work together as a system. It is basically just a 3D picture of the planet. Thank you for listening to my presentation. Maybe one day we can find a planet similar to my own.
