Mini Commodore C64 with 1541 disk drive (and now 1702 Monitor)

UPDATE: following a public shaming by tuxcat ;-) I have added a 1702 monitor to the set. Two inches wide, and ready to load your 1" floppy disks! This is an improved version of my previous Mini C64. This one has function keys, joystick ports, the 1541 drive (click! click!), stickers for the logos, and an awesome styrofoam cardboard box, much like the real thing had. . Too lazy to print your own? Buy a print at http://www.rabbitengineering.com/products.html Instructions Print out one of each part. Only c64bodytop.stl needs supports, the others can be printed without. The colours you should end up with are: Black: c64keyboard_l.stl, c64_side_plate.stl, 1541_door.stl Grey: c64keyboard_r.stl Tan: c64bodytop.stl, c64bodybottom.stl, 1541_body.stl (I printed the black parts on black PLA, the rest on white PLA and used regular Rustoleum spray paint). To build the C64: Glue the two keyboard halves into c64bodytop.stl from underneath so they poke up through the face of the machine. Glue c64sideplate.stl to the recess on the right side of c64bodybottom.stl. Glue the two subassemblies together. To build the 1541 disk drive: Glue 1541_door.stl to 1541_body.stl. To build the monitor: Print 1702face and 1702rear in black Print 1702body in tan or white and spray it the right colour Glue rear to body Attach the screen decal, THEN add the face trim. Regular old superglue (cyanoacrylate) works great on PLA, even after painting. That's it! Optionally print labels.pdf to sticker paper and affix them to the C64 and 1541 as shown in the photos. You can also print box.pdf, cut an 11cm x 7.2cm block of styrofoam and carve some recesses to make a 1980s style box as shown in the photos.
