I realized that I made a silly mistake with my previous designs of this nature by not offsetting the gear teeth. This resulted in what amounted to forcing two teeth into each gap. I compensated by adding additional slop. With this design I rectified that error and removed the slop. I also went back to filament shafts which are less likely to slip out of the vertex pieces. The upshot is that it runs more smoothly than either previous version. Happy printing.
