Mini Kossel zprobe clamp

Mini Kossel zprobe clamp

If you are building a Mini Kossel, a clamp is required to preload the spring on the zprobe for automatic bed leveling. Johann uses a terminal block connector, but I didn't have anything suitable lying around. Hence this part. I took the captured hex nut idea from triffid_hunter's gear set, which are incidentally the gears that I'm using on my 3mm Bowden extruder. Only the STL file is available here, but it was drawn in OpenSCAD. For the latest scad files, visit:https://github.com/jcdoll/kossel Update (7/13/2014): 1) Uploaded an STL for the nyloc version. Update (9/8/2013): 1) After running the printer for a few weeks the screw vibrated loose from the hex nut. I tweaked the scad nut dimensions for handle a nyloc, which I'd recommend. 2) After doing some higher temperature prints (230C), the PLA clamp was noticeably deformed. I reprinted it in ABS to avoid any temperature related problems. Instructions 1) Print with ~50% infill. 2) Insert an M3 hex nut. The fit should be reasonably tight and may require pliers. 3) Clamp onto the probe using an M3x8mm or longer fastener.
