Parts to convert XUAV Mini Talon to a conventional tail. Dampened motor mount, front skid, stronger control horns, and flight controller mount also included. Print the stabilizer, tail mounts and rudder with one perimeter shell, and 4 top/bottom layers and 5% infill. The VStab+Rudder should weigh around 61 grams. Use 5mm carbon rod/tube or dowel cut to around 40mm length to go into the bottom of the VStab and then make holes in the foam on the rear of the fuselage for them. I also use some of the spare foam removed from the tail skid to fill the square hole on the top of the fuselage near the front of the VStab. The Horizontal stabilizer mounts should weight around 19 grams each. You need to print one normal, and one mirrored. Print inner side down with supports from build platform. Trim the existing foam stabilizers off vertical. The 4mm carbon fiber rod fits into the mount and will provide proper orientation. You will need to trim a few mm off the end of the rod for proper length. The motor mount is made to be used with 6-32 by 1/2 inch rubber well-nuts. Print with 100% fill, or enough perimeter/top/bottom layers to be equivalent. Print two of the flight controller mount and one plate. Use 3mmx8mm machine screws to attach the plate to the two mounts. Sand to roughen the bottom of the mounts and glue the assembly to the floor of the fuselage behind the wing saddle area. The Bottom skid protects the bottom of the 433 MHz RC dipole. I use silicon fuel tubing to enclose that part of the dipole, then send it through the skid on the bottom of the fuselage.
