Have you ever wanted to print a working mechanical toy to show your friends? Are you dying to show off some of the possibilities of that 3D printer on your desk? Do you need to knock something small off of a table 5 or 6 feet away? Then download this small toy that is exploding with springy, launching awesomeness! It's guaranteed to impress your friends! (Don't hold me to that) This is a fully printable launcher that requires no post-processing. Just print, assemble, and enjoy! (Check the instructions for print settings) Demo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rebuqoPh0BI&feature=em-upload_owner *I designed the spring in SolidWorks, but it was inspired by obijuan's springs: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:21234 EDIT: I edited the trigger to make it fit a little better into the housing. Instructions This was printed with the following settings: Material: ABS / PLA Layer Height: 0.20 mm Shells: 2 Infill: 50% (hexagonal) Extruder Temp: 230C / 220C Plate Temp: 120C / 60C Raft: No Support: No Note: If you print this in PLA, pull the projectile back slowly the first time. The brittleness of the PLA may cause the spring to snap if it's compressed too quickly.
