mini-VB Description
Updates can be found below Warning: This design is made for aesthetics, and thus is not a very easy print to do. You'll have to likely experiment a bit with support and orientation, depending on your own printer. Assembly is a bit difficult, this was done in an effort to safe as much space, while maintaining the look of a VB. That said; It is tested and fits, though depending on your printers accuracy, may need some sanding of small parts Print variants: You'll only need one for the `"Body_Lower_[name]"` variant (whether you prefer scart, vga or SNES multi-out). And for the `"Body_TopLid"` you can either print the clean one, or the one with the letters (which you'll have to glue on later). Small BOM: Power Jack: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/4000470821076.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.19922e0ebpxL9D Power Switch: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32975535599.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.pcrcomd.3.70142e0eliwTUv momentary switch (palette): https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/32871921216.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.19922e0ebpxL9D (only need either from the next ones) SCART connector (I couldnt source that one on Ali): https://www.conrad.nl/p/tru-components-scart-connector-bus-inbouw-verticaal-zwart-1-stuks-1578891 VGA connector: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/4000493818533.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.213a2e0e1MrYhN SNES Multi-Out (needs the breakout PCB): https://trp-retromods.ca/index.php?route=product/product&path=59_64&product_id=71 (Thanks to Greg from Laser Bear Industries for pointing me towards that one! https://twitter.com/collingall - https://laserbear.net/) 8x M3 nuts 2x M3x20 screws (countersunk head) 2x M3x8 screws (hex socket cap - for the connectors, all variants use the same) 4x M3x12 screws (countersunk head) For the door hinges, you can use a bit of filament, or if you prefer something more robust, use a metal rod or nail between 1.5/2mm diameter. Furthermore, you'll need some M3x20 screws and M3 nuts, in order to tighten the shell from the bottom together (I use tapered head versions - dont know the proper name...) To keep the Audio + controller connector in place, you need 4x M3x12 + nuts. And lastly to keep the connectors in place, you need 2x M3x10 + nuts. Special thanks go to Marcus, for doing the first VB consolizer (which didn't fit my Printer, and made me decide to attempt making one myself), check his designs out: https://www.thingiverse.com/marcus9199/designs Note: Video on assembly will be uploaded to YouTube at a later point, when it's finished, I'll add the link in here at the top. Update 5/24/21 Having had to print quite a few of them recently, I discovered some minor issues in some of the meshes. I addressed them in this update, mostly QoL (stuff like thicker walls and better transitions of thicknesses to help avoid bad layer lines, as well as some better margins on pieces to fit them together post print). I also updated the SNES multi-out socket to fit an M3 screw and nut (original is M2.5). (remixed from: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3788601) Additionally, I finished the dual RGB + VGA version as well, and is now included! I havent tested this one myself, so please let me know if anything isn't working properly. Update 5/10/21 All `"Body_Lower"` files have been updated: I found an issue in the multi-out file, it was missing some support holes to screw the halves together, my apologies if you already printed it out!
