Mini Worlds

Mini Worlds

thingiverse

I started with a 75 x 75 mm surface in the Sculpt environment in Autodesk Fusion 360 and manipulated the surfaces to create these mini worlds. Adding structures gives it some scale and let's you imagine exploring the buildings or river. The boats are printed separately and then attached after the river is painted. The layers in the print are just like the surfaces on a topo map. This was also an experiment in painting. I used a dry brush technique with Vallejo acrylic Model Color paints. Instructions I sliced these things in Simplify3d and printed it on a MakerBot Replicator 2 with the following settings: Infill = 10% Layer height = 0.2 No. shells = 4 Feedrate = 40 Travel Feed = 55 Temperature = 220C I used MakerBot white PLA filament.
