Mini XLR chuck for large diameter cables (6-7mm)

hello there,

I wanted to build myself a modular audio cable. My problem was that I have a thick (6mm) star quad cable and did not have any chuck to mount the mini xlr with. So I started prototyping a chuck for that purpose and the result is in the files below. I printed it in PLA on a cr-10 (direct drive), and after couple of iterations, I was able to print one that is fitting properly directly from the print bed. Due to the bad printer calibration(?), I had to put quite an “offset” on the part. This is why I included in the f3d file (file included - it is somewhat parametric) a parameter named “printer tolerance”. Would suggest printing the chuck with that param set to 0, measuring the resulting thread diameter, then adjust the parameter aiming for an OD (on the threads) of 9.4 to 9.5, bumping that up (or down?).

I hope you will find this model suitable to your needs and will have fun with it :)

PS: I added no collet and you will not be able to (or at least not the ones you buy the connecter with) because I am planning to have heatshrink over the cable, acting as one.
