Miniature Filament Spool Props
cults3d
I'm excited to share my latest miniature creation with you - a set of adorable, colorful 3D printed filament spools that I managed to squeeze in between bigger projects. They turned out so cute and vibrant that I couldn't resist sharing them with all of you. To achieve the perfect filament look, I experimented with a mix of high and low resolution FDM printing techniques. By setting my layer height to 0.4mm, I was able to get the desired texture, while printing the spools themselves at the highest possible resolution gave me that extra level of detail. The snap fit design worked perfectly on most of them, but since I hadn't calibrated my printer profile for different filament colors, I had to use a dab of glue on a few to make sure they stayed together. This project was also an experiment in how small I could push the limits of 3D printing - and these tiny spools are proof that even the smallest objects can be just as impressive as their larger counterparts.
