Miniature Garden Tools

thingiverse

Combined a couple of existing objects on Thingiverse to create some miniature garden tools for use as decoration on a cake. I separated the handle into its own object so it could be printed in wood PLA, and the fit should be tight enough on the tab that either the rake or shovel head should stay on without glue (though it doesn't hurt to put a drop or two on). The void in the tool head is only .2mm larger then the tab on the handle, so if your machine's tolerances are a bit off you may need to file it down a bit to make sure it snaps together. Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 - 0.1 Infill: 15% Notes: The handle and shovel head are pretty simple, and don't really need any special consideration. Layer height of .2mm is fine, and as fast as you want. For the rake head, I used .1mm layers and slowed down to 30 mm/sec. The individual tines can be something of a challenge at this scale, and while they came out pretty good in the end I did have some stringing that I needed to (carefully!) remove between them.
