Based off the paint stand by spikedsynapse, which I quite liked, I've been finding that the 4x4 arrangement is too cramped. When doing batch painting of a unit, more than a few times I've brushed a finger against one figure while grabbing another, with a resultant smudge. Spacing them out in an alternating pattern fixes that, but meant a lot of wasted space.

As such, I took the existing model and reworked it to have more space between the slots. Even my fat fingers can easily grab a stand without hitting another one! With the extra spacing though, I reduced down the size from 4x4 to 4x3, which is still sufficient for most unit sizes if you're batch painting for something like 40k or Bolt Action. There is also a 4x1 version to supplement if you need more space, or are doing a smaller batch.

Two versions of the handle are also included. One is just the original design, unaltered, with a flat top. You can use BlueTac or similar to keep figures attached. I also have experimented with magnetizing the handle, with a hole for a 10x2mm magnet to be superglued in, if you are using magnetized bases on your figures. In the end I think I probably prefer BlueTac, but YMMV, so both are included.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Filament: Prusament / Amazon Basics PLA

Notes:

Have made with several PLA brands, all work fine.
