Minimalist Glowing Skull

Minimalist Glowing Skull

I love this skull (which is, perhaps, a disturbing claim) and thought it would look great as a glowing Halloween decoration. Therefore I hollowed it out so that it could hold an LED tea light and so that there would be no obstruction to mar the glow. All I had on hand was a dull butter knife and a copy of ZBrush, so the resulting model is a bit rough, but I was still able to print it on the first try. I'd recommend a line width of 0.4, since it really is very thin, and (if you are in Cura) turn on "Print thin walls" just in case. You'll need support on both the inside and outside. I used the experimental tree support from Cura 3.5, and it worked great. (Removing it from the inside felt a lot like scooping out brains with a spoon, but that was oddly appropriate.) At the current size, this will **just** hold a standard 1.5" LED tea-light. I had to bend the bottom edges to wedge it in, but that means it won't fall out easily. If you are feeling paranoid, just scale up 5-10% and it'll sit underneath your skull with no brute force required. Update (2018-10-28): Add "hollow_skull_V2.stl" with cleaner geometry and substantially fewer polygons. The model should now work properly in Slic3r.
