MINIMALIST SILENT HOTEND COOLING DUCT FOR ENDER 3 V2 ==================== This is my take on a minimalist silent hotend cooling duct with integrated parts cooling fan. __Parts needed:__ --------------------- - 50x50x10mm fan - 5015 radial fan - two stepdown converters (if you are using 12V fans) __Design Ideas:__ --------------------- Most designs use a 40x40mm fan for hotend cooling. My design uses a 50x50mm fan as they can run slower and therefore more silent. Also they tend to be cheaper. The radial fan does not need any fancy ducts, that restrict the flow rate. (Does that mean, my design is inherently better than other more complex designs? Who knows, I like it and its pretty quiet and easy to print) __How to install:__ --------------------- You need to remove the original fan housing with the two fans. Slide the Minimalist Hotend Cooling Duct down behind the hotend. Use the original srews and mounting points to secure it. Rewire your new 50x50x10 fan and the 5015 fan inplace of the old ones (check for polarity and voltage, might want to use a step down converter) and slide them over the pins. Your ready to go. Need to inspect something on your hotend? no need to unscrew anything, just slide of the 50x50x10 fan and you have easy access. __Trivia:__ --------------------- Both fans can just be pushed onto the 3d printed part. They don't need to be screwed down. This makes access to the hotend very easy and quickly. The 50x50x10 fan is used as a stressed member. The 50x50x10 fan might need the screw holes rebored with a 4,5mm drill. Depending on the manufacturer. Most of the mass is located closely to the rail, this reduces the leverage and therefor the momentum of the masses that might cause vibrations in the hotend on quick shifts in direction. I use a Noiseblocker XS2 50mm fan running at about 7V or 8V I use this one for over a year now and it works really well. __Other__ __Ender__ __3__ __V2 Silent Mods I use:__ Ender 3 V2 Motherboard Case for 92mm Fan My Design of a Motherboard case, uses a 92mm fan as well I use a Arctic F9 Silent 92mm fan https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4637583 Ender 3 v2 PSU Cover - Segmented from abrenoch Works great with a Arctic F9 Silent 92mm fan https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4592825 Ender 3 V2 Feet The 92mm fans on the Motherboard and on the PSU will raise the underside of the Ender 3 V2 above its feet. So additional feets are needed to raise the printer up. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4637594 Also check out my other silent mods for the Ender 3 V2 on my profile **If you print it, please leave a comment or a pic, thanks**
