Minimalist Unicorn Controller
thingiverse
The project is currently a work in progress since the ATMega 168 has not yet been successfully programmed. It features the RepRap/MakerBot Extruder Controller, albeit without the extruder-controlling components. A dedicated Unicorn Plotter controller board may be desired, but a $45 price tag is discouraging. The schematic includes all necessary parts for an Arduino to be controlled and powered over RS485 with two digital I/O ports via the RepRap/MakerBot Extruder Controller board file, which is experimental and may not guarantee success. The cost of production is around $20, but only when ordered in groups of 10. After obtaining Gerber files for use with a PCB creation service, proceed by producing the board, sourcing components, soldering everything together, flashing firmware onto the board, connecting to Unicorn Servo, and ultimately enjoying your Unicorn!
