Minty boost WITH MINTS!

This is like the minty boost project but my own DIY version that has a custom insert for an altoids tin. Instructions All you have to do is get an Altoids container and remove mints. I used a 9v battery and connector and a 5v regulator hooked to a toggle switch. There is a salvaged USB port with a couple of resistors on the data lines (to trick apple products) and when you flip the switch a small red indicator lets you know 5v is going to the USB port for emergency charging. I'm sure you would not get more than one or two charges on a conventional smartphone. The toggle has a momentary spring loaded position that operates a SUPER bright white LED with a resistor in series to keep it from self destructing. Long story short this insert gives you a spot to tuck away your electronics, a spot for the 9v and of course a section for some curiously strong mints. I made a few of these at Christmas and they were a lot of fun. -s
