Mirror Attachment for Red Dot Finder

Mirror Attachment for Red Dot Finder

Aiming a telescope at the sky often puts me on my knees and it’s taking a toll. I designed a clip-on mount for my finder to attach a small mirror so I can stand next to the telescope. Mine is the Celestron 51630 Star Pointer Telescope Finderscope. The mirror bracket is probably not going to fit any other make-and-model finder so this project will only apply to the few who own the same one as me although I have found some clones. I included the FreeCAD® file so you can make some adjustments but you’ll probably have to start from scratch if yours is a different finder. 1/1/2020 Update: I have added a larger version of the original design. The new one holds a credit card-size mirror. Having used both designs for a while, I like the added peripheral view that the larger mirror adds. That said, the best view is without any mirror. It's a matter of kneeling or standing.
