# Missile Turret This is a missile turret for 28mm wargaming, to make either a heavy support tank or fortification terrain. If assembled and painted carefully, the missile bays rotate on the supporting arm. There are pockets built into the design to optionally magnetize the end caps in order to switch between high explosive and wide area missiles. The base pedestal plug is 25mm, compatible with Games Workshop's Rhino-chassis hatches. Games Workshop's Rhino model shown in photos only to demonstrate scale. ## Components The missile end caps can either be glued on or magnetized. To magnetize them you'll need: * 4x 1/8” steel ball bearings for the body, e.g., [K&J Magnetics' NSB2](https://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=NSB2) * 8x 1/8” by 1/16” disc magnets for the missile end caps, e.g., [K&J Magnetics' D21](https://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=D21) ## Printing The pieces have been designed to not require any supports, with only very modest bridging and overhang capabilities required. They should be printed as oriented in the STLs: Missile end caps laying flat, and the arm cap upside down. See the photo in the gallery for an example layout in Cura. ## Assembly Dry fit everything before gluing to make sure it fits! 1. Glue the plug into the bottom of the base 2. Put a dab of glue in the three-sided pockets on the tops of the base arms, being careful to keep the glue away from the cylindrical cut where the body goes. Rest the body in the arm, then drop the cap into place on the top of the arm and hold it while the glue sets. 3. Test that the magnets and ball bearings all sit perfectly flush to the surface! If they don't, hand drill or scrape out the pocket until they do. 4. Put a dab of glue in each pocket on the body and then drop in the ball bearings. 5. Put a dab of glue in each pocket on the missile caps and then slide in the magnets. All done!
