I love my Bugs 3 but I also crash a lot. One of my rear arms broke and from what I'm seeing online the arms always seem to break in the same location. Luckily for us, we can purchase new frames online for around 12 bucks but my issue is that I will need to wait a month for the frame to arrive. I am an impatient bastard so I fired up my Fusion360 and created this replacement arm that can be bolted to the stock frame after you cut off the stock arms. If my new arms break again you will no longer need to unsolder the motors to replace them. Print 4 of these top facing down so the supports are easier to remove. I used natural color PLA so I'm hoping that the lights look cool at night shining through the arms. Do not use the stock screws for the tall landing gear to hold in these arms. During testing after aggressively flying 3 packs, one of the arms came loose causing the propeller to hit the body causing the whole thing to fall to the ground. All arms broke in the same location as the stock arms do. I am going to print 4 more and put larger screws, perhaps with a nut to keep this from happening again. It flew great up until the arm came loose. Check out my photos carefully to see where I did the cutting on the arms, basically just were the smooth underbelly stops. I used a hacksaw for the cutting and a razor blade to remove the plastic bits to make room for the wiring. Weight after modifications without the battery is 342 grams, slightly heavier but still not nearly as heavy as carrying a GoPro so it still flies great. Enjoy.
