MK3/S linear rail upgrade

Hi guys. I just replaced the rods on my MK3 with MGN12 linear rails. I've seen some other similar upgrades here and also on thingiverse but they all seem a bit too much for me. They work fine according to the people who have installed them but the solution seems a bit overkilled to me and also the rails would need to be cut on some of them. With this one all you need to do is print the parts and buy the rails and blocks. Anyway, I designed these two mounting brackets. One for the front and one for the back, two each. The installation should be pretty straightforward. You won't lose Z height and won't get a calibration error. Make sure you attach the carriage on the outside holes of the blocks on the left rail, otherwise you could get a calibration error.

You would need:

MGN12 Rail-300 mm_Qty: 2
MGN12C block_Qty: 3
T-NUT M3___Qty: 2
M3x10 Screws__Qty: 10 (Spare parts from Prusa Kit, you can reuse the screws and nuts from the original brackets)
Square M3 nuts_Qty: 8 (See above note)
M3 lock nut__Qty: 2 (Prusa spare parts)
Front Bracket__Qty: 2
Back Bracket_Qty: 2

Any questions or help needed just let me know. Enjoy, good luck and happy printing.

Print instructions

I printed them in PETG. Of course you can use ABS or any other suitable material, resin would be a great option. If you use FDM I suggest to print the parts flat on the face that is going to mate with the metal plates on the Prusa MK3 frame and use a smooth sheet. That way you'll get a nice flat mating surface and, if your printer is calibrated, you'd have perfect 90 degrees angles between faces.
