I experienced a few challenges with the original bracket included with the kit. While it functioned, it relied heavily on plastic flexing to get the extruder in and out, which resulted in me breaking it. I was able to repair it and it worked for a while, but it melted when trying to print on an extremely hot day. A few questionable fixes made it possible to print an improved version with an integrated print cooling ring. This updated version boasts several enhancements over the original: * Built-in print cooling ring and fan * Designed in two parts so that plastic flexing is minimized during installation and removal of the extruder (and potential breakage) * Hopefully, solid enough not to melt * Can be mounted with screws from the back of the X carriage, eliminating the need to remove the assembly from the machine * The adapter for the fan is a separate piece, allowing you to design one that suits your specific fan without reprinting the entire thing There's also an attached file featuring just the bracket and no cooling ring if you prefer it that way. The screws used are M3, and the holes for them will likely need to be drilled out to fit. The area surrounding the screws holding the fan adapter to the main piece may require some adjustment to accommodate the screws properly. Print this with ABS plastic so that the extruder stepper motor and heater do not soften the material as it warms up when installed. Additionally, print with at least the bed enclosed or surrounded by cardboard walls to prevent warping or layer separation - I had a few issues with the fan adapter where I neglected to follow these guidelines, although it has held together without falling off.
