<p>This is a remix of MMU2S buffer (inspired by RMU buffer) spool and shaft.</p><p>Changes made:</p><ol><li>Redesigned spools to print without supports, less filament material, and slightly less print time.</li><li>Adjusted spool bearing hole for better and snug fit.</li><li>Centered bearing in the middle of spool to accommodate same thickness spacers on both sides.</li><li>Spindle has been drawn dimensionally to 8mm diameter to snug up with the bearing inner race. The bearings work best if the inner race is not allowed to spin on the smaller diameter spindle. A flat spot along the spindle has been added for easier printing.</li><li>A 12mm long test spindle is included to determine optimum scaling of the print. i.e. filaments have some shrinkage even though the part is drawn dimensionally correct. This test part should be printed at a scale that allows it to slide in snuggly to the bearing inner race. I found my setup required it to be 101%. Once the scale has been determined, use the same number when slicing the spindle. This part will be used later for the spacer installation, so don't lose it!</li><li>Included re-designed screw caps. I just like straight edge clean lines. Not necessary to print if you choose to use the original caps.</li></ol><p>The original design had no tolerance for the 8mm spindle. If you wish to use this spindle design on the existing housing, you will need to take a drill bit or reamer and enlarge the hole large enough to insert shaft freely. You can choose to use the original spindle design or print this one to slightly smaller scale to fit with the existing design.</p><p>A bearing cup and press design has been included for installation and removal of bearings from this spool.</p><p>All parts were printed with PETG and 0.4mm nozzle. Spool was printed at 0.15mm layer height, 15% infill, 3 perimeters, Archimedean Chords top fill. Spindle was printed at 0.15mm layer height, 30% infill.
