For those who wish to upgrade their Replicator 2 or 2X extruder without dismantling the gantry setup, here is a stepper motor mockup of the Moon Stepper, available with or without feeder gear. Constructed using ABS, suggested settings are as follows: Scaling at 101.1%, standard resolution, no raft, left extruder (if available) for support, platform temperature of 115°C, and extrusion temp at 230°C. Since I possess a Replicator 2X, I use HIPS for support, which is easily removable without using citrus products. Building directly on Kapton tape offers a polished surface. Set the model in MakerWare with back end down on the platform for optimal adhesion. Scaling at 101.1% compensates for ABS shrinkage and a max extrusion temp of 230°C prevents sagging. Note that through-holes are not threaded for M3 machine screws, but this can be amended using SolidWorks files. If changes are made, they should be checked with a program like netfabb.
