This is a 3D mesh of a live racer snake (Dolichophis jugularis) scanned on location in Cyprus using the Beastcam MACRO. Both coiled and straight poses are included. The total weight of this serpent is exactly 479 grams. Jer Bot, an accomplished CG artist, skillfully retopologized and rebuilt the snake within Blender, a powerful open-source 3D animation software. He achieved this through an array of six Canon G16 cameras and additional reference images. This detailed model was created as part of Dr. Savvas Zotos' post-doc research (POST-DOC/0916/0034) at retrack.terracypria.org, supported by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation. The primary goal of this 3D model is to facilitate a deeper understanding of the species' movement patterns and behavioral traits.
