Again, necessity is the mother of invention and the father, well that is up to Maury Povich to determine. Yet this niffy little gadget was inspired by this design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2283017) yet I flipped it around, added another slot and holes and well made it different from scratch. So from me to you as an STL gift as this is works well for phones and small tablets (larger ones are likely too top heavy). Also there is a bonus here! Use feet such as these http://amzn.to/2xpsXvo and you can run a charging / sync cable underneath and up through the holes! How cool is that for one a part simple print with no support to worry about!
