ModiBot V3.5 Concept

ModiBot V3.5 Concept

Each version of ModiBot seems to have a story or reason to exist. V1: Kidmechano wanted to see what was possible with SLS and an idea he had. It was made as skeletal as possible to try to get the cost of production below $10 per bot. V2: He decided to make it compatible with Xevos and nicknamed it ModiBot "X". For ModiBot V3, the design was very reminiscent of V2, but now with 4mm holes for compatibility with most action figures. I don't claim to be the expert, this is just what I found after over 2 years playing with these parts. My concept is: The design for V3 is good, but what if we made some minor adjustments to it? Some parts are identical to the last gen, so it is not V4, but many parts are improved or modified. This really feels like a half gen design to me. I kept it fully compatible with V3 parts, but this prints on FDM, and it mostly works. Parts are arranged like the original https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2222384 I know it's a little confusing, but I left it ass is so you can "build your own" and as a sort of subtle reference to the roots this comes from. Major shoutout to Kidmechano. If you have some spare change, go buy the original Mo, quality and customer service is excellent. You are supporting an amazing community if you do so. WARNING: This is a concept, and as such it is under heavy construction. It also is not an official ModiBot product, so do not go to Kidmechano with any issues. I have put more time into designing and testing parts like these than I care to admit, so hopefully you can get it working. As always, best of luck and happy printing.
