Modifiable Clamp System Fasttracks #4 & #6 Turnouts

thingiverse

This is a basic clamping system than can be modified for many uses. The clamps are about 0.6 mm shorter than the beams they clip onto. In this case they are going around a frame I made for the Fasttracks N scale model train track laying jigs. The beam piece presses down on the parts to be held - in this case the train rails being soldered into place. The clip has a bowed bottom so as the force is applied the jaws become tighter. Included are the #4 Turnout, #6 Turnout and #6 3-way Turnout Fasttracks jigs. To modify the width of the clamp in Sketchup or another object editor just grab one side of the clamp and you can make them any width you need without affecting the geometry of the parts.
